Mercury Recycling

Mercury Collection

Since 2015, the Mercury Collection program has successfully diverted over 175kg of mercury from landfills in Nova Scotia. The program has successfully exceeded its collection targets and is now closed.

Please note that collection locations will no longer be accepting products. To find up-to-date information about how to properly dispose of mercury-containing products, please contact your municipality.

Nova Scotians who wish to recycle mercury-containing lighting products may do so for a fee by bringing them to Dan-X Recycling in Dartmouth.

Appliances can still be recycled at no cost by calling 1-888-303-2103 to schedule pick-up or book online.
