Natural Gas & Propane Heating
Rebates
- Gas Area Heater: $900 (or up to 20% of the total equipment and installation costs including HST, whichever is lower). All equipment must have a minimum output of 9,000 Btu/hour and a minimum energy efficiency of 80%, which for area heaters is based on the Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE), and for fireplaces based on the Fireplace Efficiency (FE). Rebates are only available for the installation of the first unit, multiple rebates are not available for the same heating equipment.
- Furnaces: $500 for equipment and installation (or up to 30% of the costs including HST, whichever is lower). All space heating equipment must be ENERGY STAR® certified and have an AFUE of at least 92%.
- Boilers: $2,250 for equipment and installation (or up to 30% of the costs including HST, whichever is lower). All space heating equipment must be ENERGY STAR® certified and have an AFUE of at least 90%.
- $3,000 for additional installation costs where a central furnace or boiler is replacing electric baseboards (not to exceed 100% of installation costs). This includes the costs to remove electric baseboards and install the new forced-air or hydronic heating system.
- $500 for ENERGY STAR® domestic water heating (storage tank) equipment and installation (or up to 30% of the costs including HST, whichever is lower), with a minimum energy factor of 0.67 or higher.
- $750 for ENERGY STAR® higher efficiency (tankless) domestic water heating equipment and installation (or up to 30% of the costs including HST, whichever is lower), with a minimum energy factor of 0.82 or higher.
- $100 for gas ranges to replace an existing electric range (or up to 20% of the costs including HST, whichever is lower).
- $100 for gas dryers to replace an existing electric dryer (or up to 20% of the costs including HST, whichever is lower).
