Solar Air Requirements
Solar Air Requirements

- System was installed according to industry best practice and manufacturer's instructions.
- System's make and model must be on the Natural Resources Canada List of Accepted Collectors.
- Applicant must own the house where the system is installed.

- The rebate only applies to items relating to the system and its installation. Backup heating systems, distribution systems or other non-related items do not qualify for the rebate.
- Efficiency Nova Scotia reserves the right to decline installations where it is determined that the system will not meet performance potential; i.e. poor solar orientation.
- Legible copies of receipts and photos of the solar air system must be included with the application form.
Electrical Equipment Certification Requirements
- The listing of approved collectors is for the collectors only.
- All electrical components that are used with the overall system must be properly approved for use in Nova Scotia (ie. a CE or CCC marking is not acceptable - approval must be equivalent to CSA).
Efficiency Nova Scotia recommends that those planning to install a solar system obtain three quotes before deciding on a system and contractor. To learn about the different types of panels you can use, click here. Eligible panels must be listed under one of the following:
- CSA 378 List of Accepted Collectors (click here for list)
- CSA 379 List of Accepted Systems (click here for list)
- CSA List of Solar Concentrators (click here for list)
- Or the former F378 list, previously administered by Natural Resources Canada
Please note that all electrical components that are used with the overall system must be properly approved for use in Nova Scotia (ie. a CE or CCC marking is not acceptable - approval must be equivalent to CSA).
Efficiency Nova Scotia also offers solar air heating and water heating rebates for commercial systems. For more information, click here.
