Types of Solar Panels
There are two main types of solar water heating panels:
Flat-plate collectors
- Available in glazed and unglazed models
- Typically less expensive than other solar water technology
- Less sensitive to overheating
Evacuated tube collectors
- Typically more expensive
- Work effectively in periods of low sun
- Produce higher temperatures than flat-plates
- Well insulated, tendency to accumulate snow cover
