Wood, Pellet and Solar Eligibility Requirements

Participation in the Home Energy Assessment program or New Home Construction program precludes homeowners from receiving rebates for the same upgrades in other Efficiency Nova Scotia programs. Only rebates from one program will be issued for any particular measure.

Please Note: Rebates are not available for the replacement of working equipment. If replacing non-working equipment please contact us prior to making your purchase and we can confirm eligibility and rebates. A letter from your contractor will be required to indicate the state of the previous equipment.

* The table above reflects changes to the eligibility criteria for Wood/Pellet Burning Equipment taking effect on July 1, 2020 (Previous requirements: EPA or CSA emissions of < 4.5 g/hr. or < 0.40g/MJ for TPM). Complete applications received for Wood/Pellet Burning Equipment by December 31, 2020 will rebate on previous criteria if necessary to result in a rebate being issued.

For installations between February 1st and April 30th, 2024, wood/pellet stoves and inserts incentives will increase to $750/unit as part of a spring promotion. For installations outside of these dates, a rebate of $500/unit will apply
