Course Overview: The Residential Heat Loss & Heat Gain Calculations course is a 4-day program based on the CSA F280-12 (R2021) standard. It teaches students how to determine the required capacity of residential heating and cooling appliances through step-by-step calculations. The course covers factors such as air leakage, ventilation, and the influence of people, appliances, and window shading on heat loss and gain. Upon successful completion, participants are recognized by municipal building officials and plans examiners for their technical competency in residential load calculations and HVAC appliance selection. A digital course manual is included, with an option to purchase a hard copy.
