Efficiency Nova Scotia provides rebates on heat pumps through two programs:

Home Energy Assessment
Looking to purchase a heat pump? A $199 Home Energy Assessment is the best way to discover how to save energy. In a 2-3 hour assessment, an Energy Advisor will review your home for insulation levels, air leakage, and mechanical systems. Take advantage of rebates on qualifying upgrade recommendations, like heat pumps, in this comprehensive home review.

Heating System Rebates Potential Rebate: Up to $1,600
Already purchased an eligible heat pump with the help of a contractor? We’ll offer rebates within 180 days of your installation date to complement your monthly savings. Only certain units are eligible, and no in-home assessment is needed.

DUCTLESS MINI-SPLIT HEAT PUMP

Potential Rebate: $200-$300/ton

These mini-split heat pumps allow temperature control in different zones of your home, saving you thousands each year.

CENTRALLY-DUCTED HEAT PUMPS

Potential Rebate: $400-$500/ton

These heat pumps can heat or cool your entire home, and are great for both a new home construction, or added to your existing forced-air system.

GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMPS

Potential Rebate: $500-$600/ton

These heat pumps can heat or cool your entire home, and are great for both a new home construction, or added to your existing forced-air system.

AIR-TO-WATER HEAT PUMPS

Potential Rebate: $400-$500/ton

Air-to-water heat pump extracts heat energy from the outside air, allowing year-round domestic hot water as well as seasonal space heating and cooling.
