Home Energy Assessment
Please note, interest in the Canada Greener Homes Grant is very high and our contracted delivery partners are working hard to keep up with demand. Homeowners can expect wait times to vary to have an energy assessment and you may be placed on a waitlist. We ask that customers not place their names on multiple waitlists. The Canada Greener Homes Grant is a multi-year program and we thank you for your patience as we work with delivery partners to meet the high demand for assessments across the province.
Make your home more comfortable and energy efficient by keeping your valuable heat inside with heat pumps, better insulation, draft-proofing, windows, doors, and other upgrades. Book your Home Energy Assessment to see where your home is losing heat, what you can do to improve it and what home energy rebates you may be eligible for.
The amount a homeowner pays for a Home Energy Assessment is $199. Homeowners who qualify for the Greener Homes program and install at least one eligible Greener Homes retrofit recommended by your energy advisor will be reimbursed $100 following your post-retrofit evaluation.

Home Energy Assessment
Learn how your home uses energy, and what you can do to make it more efficient and comfortable with a Home Energy Assessment.
In 2-3 hours, an approved partner will look at insulation levels, air leakage, and mechanical systems from attic to basement—assigning your home an EnerGuide energy performance score and custom report of prioritized upgrades.
Take advantage of financing opportunities and up to $5,000 in home energy rebates to complete these upgrades, and enjoy your energy efficient home. This program is open to homes in Nova Scotia that are at least 6 months old. Read the full home and product eligibility guidelines.
If you are a low-income homeowner, you may qualify for our HomeWarming program. You could receive home energy upgrades for free. See if you qualify for HomeWarming.
For property owners of multi-unit residential buildings
