Mike Rogers Named Keynote Speaker for Bright Business Awards

(Dartmouth, NS) – Efficiency Nova Scotia announced today that Mike Rogers, President of OmStout Consulting – based in Burlington, Vermont – will be the keynote speaker for the organization’s sixth annual Bright Business Awards.

The event will be held October, 17th at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax. Since 2012, the conference has become one of the biggest energy efficiency events in the region, attracting more than 250 attendees, welcoming hundreds of speakers and honouring Nova Scotia’s best-in-class energy efficient leaders.

An expert in residential energy-efficiency, Mr. Rogers works with contractors to strengthen their businesses and helps programs and policy-makers to scale sustainable market approaches to improving homes. Mr. Rogers brings real-world experience from providing one-on-one support for contractors, to delivering business development training at national conferences, to helping organizations better understand how to work with contractors to deliver efficiency.

Previously, Mr. Rogers was with ABM Energy and was the Senior Vice President with GreenHomes America (an ABM subsidiary), where he led development of a successful business approach to home energy retrofitting and helped GreenHomes scale nationally. Prior to that, Mike was the lead developer of Home Performance with Energy Star for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy. Mr. Rogers’s address, entitled: “Cold Drinks and Hot Showers: Building Value for Efficiency”, will discuss how those in the energy efficiency industry need to build value for customers who may not understand the importance of efficiency measures.
