New Remote Home Energy Assessments
Efficiency Nova Scotia now offers a new option for your Home Energy Assessment for customers who are approved for the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA) program. Using video technology, you can connect with a Registered Energy Advisor via video-capable smartphone, tablet, or computer, eliminating the need for an in-person visit.
A remote assessment allows you to…
- Save time, energy and money.
- Access heat pump rebates outlined in our rebate guide.
(Please note that only heat pumps are eligible for rebates with a Remote Home Energy Assessment. )
A remote assessment may not be for you if…
- You’re OHPA eligible and considering installing new windows, doors, or upgrading insulation levels, a traditional in-person assessment is the way to go.
- You’re OHPA eligible and considering using the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation interest free loan. In that case, you will need to complete an in-person assessment.
- You don’t have access to or ability to use a video capable smartphone or other device.
Requirements for Moderate Income Rebate (MIR) and OHPA program applicants:
- You must apply and be eligible approved for OHPA to request a Remote Assessment.
