Building Code Overview for Nova Scotia

On September 20th ASHRAE Halifax Chapter will be hosting Joe Rogers, Building Code Coordinator for The Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshal, for a presentation and discussion on the proposed adoption of 2020 National Building Code, National Plumbing Code and National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB). The wide range of topics to be discussed will include (but not be limited to):
- Changes to the NECB
- Anticipated schedule for implementation of Tiers for both the NECB and 9.36
- Changes in the NBC Part 6 regarding cooling towers and legionella
- The current public notice and opportunity to comment (closing on September 29th, 2023)
This is a great opportunity to hear about the proposed amendments from the Office of the Fire Marshal and discuss the impact it will have on the design and construction of new builds and major renovation in Nova Scotia for years to come.
